Ice pick headaches are a benign primary headache disorder characterized by sudden, sharp, ice pick-like pains. These pains typically last for seconds to minutes and can occur at different locations on the child's head. Ice pick headaches are often observed in patients who are prone to migraines. They are relatively infrequent and generally do not require treatment. However, there are case reports indicating that these headaches may respond to indomethacin.
